The Vanamahotsava celebration was held at St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Mapusa – Goa on 7th July 2018 as a joint effort by the National Service Scheme Unit and Science Association of St. Xavier’s H.S.S.

The day began with a meaningful assembly on the importance of Vanamahotsava and the need to plant as well as nurture plants which is an integral part of our ecosystem.

Keeping up with the tradition of planting trees, fruit bearing saplings were planted in the campus.

This was followed by Inter-class ‘Nurturing A Plant’ competition wherein 2 student representatives from the thirty classes of standards XI and XII participated in the same. Students were encouraged to grow and nurture ornamental plants along with maintaining a bi-weekly report of their growth for six months.

The re-potting of various other plants was also undertaken to take care of the existing flora in the beautiful campus of St. Xavier’s H.S.S.
